Home About Us
ChickenTray was born from a deep-rooted passion for preserving India's rich poultry heritage. Our journey began in a small village in Punjab, where our founder Rajinder Singh grew up watching his father and grandfather raise traditional Tray Chickens using methods passed down through generations.
In 2010, alarmed by the rapid disappearance of indigenous chicken breeds and traditional farming practices, Rajinder decided to establish ChickenTray with a clear mission: to revive, preserve, and promote India's native chicken breeds while ensuring that farmers received fair compensation for maintaining these traditional practices.
We remain true to traditional Indian poultry practices, refusing to compromise on the authentic methods that have defined Tray Chicken farming for centuries. This commitment ensures that what reaches your table is genuinely traditional in both flavor and quality.
We believe in uplifting the rural communities that maintain these traditional practices. By partnering with small-scale farmers across India, we ensure fair compensation and help preserve agricultural heritage while supporting local economies.
Our farming practices honor the delicate balance between agriculture and nature. From water conservation techniques to organic waste management, we ensure that our operations respect the environment while producing the highest quality poultry.
We prioritize not just the taste but also the nutritional value of our products. Our chickens, raised in natural environments with traditional feeding practices, offer superior nutritional benefits compared to commercially raised alternatives.
ChickenTray was founded with just 5 partner farmers in Punjab, focusing initially on preserving the Aseel breed, one of India's most cherished native chicken varieties.
We expanded our network to include farmers from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, incorporating regional chicken breeds and diverse traditional farming techniques from across India.
Launched our e-commerce platform to bring authentic Tray Chicken directly to urban customers, bridging the gap between rural producers and city consumers.
Expanded our delivery network to cover all major Indian cities, with specialized cold chain logistics to ensure freshness regardless of destination.
Launched our eco-friendly packaging initiative, moving to 100% biodegradable materials across all our product lines.
ChickenTray now partners with over 200 farmers across 12 states, preserving 8 native chicken breeds while serving more than 25,000 regular customers with authentic, traditionally raised poultry.
